Dayshaun Ramos and Erika Nicole Burgos dominated the centerpiece Filipino Elite divisions at the 10th edition of the Sun Life 5150 Bohol Triathlon in Panglao, Bohol on Sunday, July 12, 2026, with Burgos also becoming the first athlete to win two legs of the 5150 Triathlon Islands of the Philippines Series.
Dayshaun Ramos Answers Guimaras Defeat
Ramos, one of the country's top national team campaigners, completed the standard 5150 distance — a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-kilometer bike and 10-kilometer run across Panglao Island — in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 2 seconds to claim the men's Filipino Elite title, according to race organizer Sunrise Events Inc.
Joshua Ramos of Baguio City finished second in 2:12:49, with Mervin Santiago rounding out the men's podium in third place.
The result reversed the outcome of the season opener. Joshua Ramos, 24, had claimed the men's Filipino Elite crown at the series-launching 5150 Guimaras in March, closing with the fastest run split of the entire field to win in 2:14:00. Dayshaun Ramos arrived in Panglao fresh off a victory at IRONMAN 70.3 Davao and left Bohol with the series answer.
Burgos Makes History as First Two-Leg Series Winner
Burgos captured the women's Filipino Elite championship in 2:28:38, ahead of Ines Santiago in second place and Nicole Andaya in third, delivering an all-Filipino women's podium.
The SEA Games gold medalist had previously ruled the Bohol race in 2023 and 2024, making Sunday's victory her third title at this venue in four years, according to Sunrise Events Inc.
The win also secured a historic milestone. Having claimed the inaugural Guimaras leg in March before sitting out the Camiguin stop, Burgos became the first athlete to win two legs of the 5150 Triathlon Islands of the Philippines Series — a record no competitor had previously achieved in the circuit.
Field of 23 Nations Lines Up in Panglao
Athletes from 23 countries competed across the age-group divisions alongside the elite category at the Panglao Island venue, according to Sunrise Events Inc. The race weekend also staged the Sunrise Sprint — a shorter 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run — aimed at newcomers and recreational racers.
Local talent also had a moment in the spotlight: Team Bohol became the first relay squad to cross the finish line, showcasing athletes developed through the province's grassroots sports program.
Third Leg of a Four-Stop National Circuit
The Sun Life 5150 Bohol race is the third of four stops on the Islands of the Philippines Series, organized by Sunrise Events Inc. The circuit opened in Guimaras, moved to Camiguin in May, and concludes on September 20 at Samal Island in Davao City.
The Philippine Sports Commission backs the series alongside the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority and other members of the National Sports Tourism-Inter Agency Council, as part of a broader push to position the Philippines as a premier destination for endurance sports, according to Sunrise Events Inc.

The series, backed by the Philippine Sports Commission and national tourism agencies, is part of a government-supported effort to establish the Philippines as a top-tier destination for international endurance sports. With the fourth and final leg set for Samal Island on September 20, both the series title race and Burgos' legacy in Philippine triathlon remain in sharp focus heading into the finale.
