The state weather bureau PAGASA has issued its latest 24-hour public weather forecast, valid until 4:00 AM tomorrow, April 21, 2026, indicating a risk of isolated thunderstorms throughout the Philippines. The forecast, released at 4:00 AM today, advises the public to stay informed and take necessary precautions against potential hazards.

National Weather Overview

Across the Philippines, PAGASA anticipates partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. These weather disturbances are attributed to localized thunderstorms. While the overall weather pattern suggests generally fair conditions, the possibility of severe thunderstorms necessitates vigilance, particularly in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

Regional Forecasts

Luzon

For Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies, increasing the chance of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Pay close attention to your local weather conditions, especially during the afternoon and evening hours when thunderstorms are most likely to develop.

Visayas

The Visayas region shares a similar forecast, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. While no specific provinces are singled out, residents throughout the Visayas should be prepared for sudden downpours and potential localized flooding.

Mindanao

Mindanao mirrors the weather pattern of Luzon and Visayas, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. As with the other regions, PAGASA advises caution during periods of heavy rainfall due to the risk of flash floods and landslides.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

PAGASA's report also includes information on wind and coastal water conditions. The eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience moderate winds blowing from the east to northeast. These areas can expect moderate sea conditions, with wave heights ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters.

In Northern Luzon, winds will be light to moderate, coming from the southeast to northeast. Coastal waters in this region will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 and 2.1 meters.

The rest of the country will also experience light to moderate winds, blowing from the northeast to east. Coastal waters in these areas are expected to be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

Temperature and Humidity

Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded at the PAGASA Weather Station in Quezon City was 34.0°C at 3:00 PM, while the minimum temperature was 24.2°C at 5:00 AM. The relative humidity ranged from a maximum of 82% at 5:00 AM to a minimum of 44% at 3:00 PM.

Tidal Information (Manila Bay)

PAGASA, referencing data from NAMRIA, provides tidal predictions for Manila Bay. Today, high tides occurred at 1:16 AM (0.39 meters) and will occur at 11:15 AM (1.21 meters). Low tides occurred at 3:19 AM (0.36 meters) and will occur at 7:30 PM (-0.31 meters). There is no high tide forecast for tomorrow in this update.

Safety Precautions

Given the forecast for potential thunderstorms, it is crucial for the public to take necessary precautions. PAGASA advises the following:

  • Stay informed: Monitor the latest weather updates from PAGASA and local news sources.
  • Avoid flood-prone areas: If you live in an area prone to flooding, be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
  • Be cautious during heavy rain: Avoid traveling during heavy rainfall, especially in areas with poor drainage.
  • Unplug electrical appliances: During thunderstorms, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes.
  • Seek shelter: If you are caught outdoors during a thunderstorm, seek shelter in a sturdy building. Avoid open fields and isolated trees.
  • Prepare an emergency kit: Have a readily available emergency kit that includes food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies.
