PMA Superintendent Lieutenant General Michael G. Logico PA led the Philippine delegation and met with Rear Admiral Jens Grimm, Superintendent of the German Naval Academy Mürwik, along with the academy's key officers.

Modernizing Military Education at the Core of Discussions

According to the PMA, discussions centered on modernizing military education to address the demands of contemporary warfare. The two academies exchanged views on integrating digital learning platforms, artificial intelligence, and competency-based instruction into their respective curricula.

The PMA said these approaches are aimed at strengthening critical thinking, practical application, and decision-making skills among cadets — competencies considered essential in modern military operations.

Wargaming and Simulation Training on the Agenda

The engagement also covered the use of wargaming and simulation-based training as tools for enhancing strategic thinking among cadets. The PMA delegation observed a live demonstration of the German Naval Academy's simulation training program and toured its facilities, according to the same press release.

Cadet Exchange Program Under Consideration

The possibility of establishing a semester-long cadet exchange program between the PMA and the German Naval Academy Mürwik was also raised during the four-day engagement. The PMA did not specify a timeline or formal agreement status for the proposed program in its public affairs release.

PMA Cites Curriculum Insights Gained from Visit

The PMA said the visit provided its delegation with insights into instructional approaches that could support improvements in the academy's curriculum, teaching methods, and training capabilities. No specific curriculum changes were announced as of the release date.
