The Philippines can expect a mix of weather conditions today, May 25, 2026, as a Low Pressure Area (LPA) affects Mindanao. PAGASA, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, forecasts scattered rains and thunderstorms for some regions, while others should prepare for isolated rain showers.

National Weather Outlook

Across the Philippines, residents should stay informed about potential weather disturbances and take necessary precautions. PAGASA advises monitoring for updates, particularly in areas prone to flash floods and landslides.

Regional Forecasts

Luzon

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Expect isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Be aware that localized thunderstorms could bring the risk of flash floods or landslides.

In Northern Luzon, winds will be light to moderate, coming from the southeast to northeast. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

For the rest of Luzon, expect light to moderate winds from the east to northeast. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The Bicol Region and Quezon province should brace for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. PAGASA warns that severe thunderstorms may lead to flash floods or landslides.

Visayas

Across the Visayas, winds will be slight to moderate, blowing from the northeast to northwest. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Mindanao

Mindanao is most directly affected by the LPA's trough. Expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. PAGASA advises residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

In Palawan, similar conditions are expected, with cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms. Flash floods and landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

Temperature and Humidity

Yesterday, the highest recorded temperature at the PAGASA Weather Station in Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City, was 36.5°C. The lowest temperature was 26.6°C, recorded at 5:00 AM. The maximum humidity reached 91% at 6:00 PM, while the minimum humidity was 69% at 3:00 PM.

Wind and Coastal Waters

Across Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan, expect slight to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, resulting in slight to moderate coastal waters (0.6 to 1.5 meters).

Safety Reminders

PAGASA reminds the public to take the following precautions:

  • Stay Informed: Monitor PAGASA's official updates and advisories regularly.
  • Prepare for Evacuation: If you live in a flood- or landslide-prone area, know your evacuation routes and be ready to evacuate if necessary.
  • Secure Your Home: Reinforce your home against strong winds and heavy rain. Clear drainage systems to prevent flooding.
  • Be Cautious While Traveling: Avoid traveling during heavy rain or thunderstorms. If you must travel, drive slowly and carefully.
  • Stay Indoors: If possible, stay indoors during severe thunderstorms.
  • Avoid Contact with Water: Do not wade through floodwaters as they may be contaminated.
  • Charge Devices: Keep your mobile phones and other communication devices fully charged in case of power outages.
