Its epicenter was located 15 kilometers south-southeast of Baganga in Davao Oriental, at coordinates 7.51°N, 126.68°E. PHIVOLCS-DOST recorded the earthquake at a magnitude of Mw 5.1, with a depth of focus of 28 kilometers. The earthquake's origin was tectonic in nature.
