Two cadets from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) successfully completed their four-year degree program at the Japan National Defense Academy (JNDA) on Saturday, March 14, 2026, marking a significant milestone in Philippines-Japan defense cooperation and military education exchange.
Cadet First Class Jhoshua Otchoc Garcia, destined for the Philippine Air Force, and Cadet First Class Solomon Banagyo Mangetag, who will join the Philippine Navy, both graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Humanities from the prestigious Japanese military institution.

Before entering PMA, Garcia pursued Civil Engineering at the University of Baguio. He was deployed to JNDA in May 2020 as part of the international exchange program.
Mangetag achieved even more recognition during his time in Japan. The 26-year-old from Guinihon, Mayoyao, Ifugao, not only earned the TOEIC Award for scoring 900 points and above in the English proficiency examination but also received the Foreign Cadet Special Award.
