The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police formally turned over 30 Unified 911 Emergency Response Motorcycles to the Province of Quezon on October 7, 2026, in a ceremony aimed at strengthening police mobility and emergency response capacity across the province.
Senior Officials Lead Quezon Turnover Ceremony
The handover was led by DILG Secretary Juanito Victor C. "Jonvic" Remulla, alongside Quezon Governor Dr. Helen Tan, PNP Chief General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., DILG Quezon Provincial Director Abigail Andres, and Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) Provincial Director PCOL Romulo Albacea.
The high-level attendance of both national and provincial officials underscored the government's emphasis on improving emergency response infrastructure at the local level.
Motorcycles to Serve Hard-to-Reach Areas
According to the PNP Public Information Office, the 30 motorcycles will function as additional mobility assets for police responders deployed across Quezon Province. The units are intended particularly for areas where smaller, more agile vehicles can reach destinations faster than standard patrol cars during emergencies.
The PNP-PIO noted that the initiative is designed to improve response time and ensure that emergency assistance reaches communities more efficiently when it matters most.
Part of Broader PNP Reform Agenda
The motorcycle turnover supports the PNP's ongoing campaign under its institutional framework, the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman — which translates to Fast, Honest, and Felt Service — according to the PNP-PIO statement.
The program reflects continued efforts by the DILG and PNP to modernize police assets and strengthen frontline readiness at the provincial level.
By the Numbers

Why This Matters
The deployment of 30 dedicated emergency motorcycles gives Quezon Province police responders a faster, more flexible option for reaching communities during critical incidents, particularly in areas inaccessible to larger vehicles. The initiative reflects the national government's push to equip local police units with assets that directly improve emergency response times. As part of the PNP's broader reform program, the turnover signals continued investment in frontline capability at the provincial level.
