The Philippines can expect generally fair weather conditions across the archipelago, according to the 4:00 AM weather forecast issued by PAGASA on April 16, 2026. While most areas will enjoy clear skies, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms remain a possibility, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.

Luzon Weather Forecast

Northern Luzon is currently experiencing the influence of a ridge of high pressure. This weather system typically brings stable atmospheric conditions, leading to clear skies and minimal rainfall. Residents of Northern Luzon can anticipate generally fair weather. However, it's still advisable to be prepared for the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening. Coastal waters in the eastern seaboard of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough due to northeast winds. The rest of Luzon will experience slight to moderate seas.

Visayas Weather Forecast

The Visayas region is expected to have generally fair weather as well. While clear skies are anticipated for the majority of the day, the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms cannot be entirely ruled out. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions in case of sudden downpours. Seas will be slight to moderate.

Mindanao Weather Forecast

Mindanao, like the rest of the Philippines, is also forecast to have generally fair weather. Similar to Luzon and Visayas, there is a chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. It is always a good idea to stay informed about the latest weather conditions and be prepared for potential rainfall events. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate.

Typhoon Sinlaku (2604) Update

PAGASA is also monitoring Typhoon Sinlaku (2604), which is currently located 2,385 kilometers east of Central Luzon. As of 3:00 AM today, the typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 205 kilometers per hour. It is moving northward at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour. While the typhoon is currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), PAGASA continues to monitor its movement and intensity. Any significant changes in its track or intensity will be promptly communicated to the public.

Temperature and Humidity

Yesterday's extreme temperatures recorded at the PAGASA Weather Station in Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City, showed a maximum temperature of 34.3°C at 2:00 PM and a minimum temperature of 22.4°C at 5:00 AM. The relative humidity ranged from a maximum of 84% at 5:00 AM to a minimum of 32% at 5:00 PM.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

Here's a summary of the expected wind and coastal water conditions across different regions:

  • Eastern seaboard of Northern Luzon: Northeast to East winds, moderate to rough seas.
  • Southern Luzon: Southeast to East winds, moderate to rough seas.
  • Rest of Luzon: Light to moderate winds, slight to moderate seas.
  • Visayas: Southeast to East winds, slight to moderate seas.
  • Mindanao: Northeast to East winds, slight to moderate seas.

Safety Reminders

While the forecast indicates generally fair weather, it's crucial to remain vigilant and prepared for potential isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Here are some safety tips:

  • Stay informed: Monitor PAGASA's official weather updates regularly.
  • Prepare for rain: Carry an umbrella or raincoat, especially if you plan to be outdoors during the afternoon or evening.
  • Lightning safety: Seek shelter indoors during thunderstorms. Avoid open fields, tall structures, and bodies of water.
  • Driving safety: If driving during heavy rain, reduce speed, increase following distance, and turn on your headlights.
  • Coastal activities: Be aware of the sea conditions before engaging in any water-based activities. Heed the advice of local authorities.
