Key government security agencies and stakeholders gathered on September 5, 2026, at the Kalilintad Hall, Provincial Capitol, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, for the final Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) Coordinating Conference ahead of the September 14, 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections.
The conference, spearheaded by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division (6ID), focused on strengthening interagency coordination, delineating roles, and synchronizing security measures to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and credible electoral process.
Bunayog Calls for Professionalism, Impartiality
Brigadier General Ricky P. Bunayog, Acting Commander of the 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central (JTFC), delivered the keynote message, stressing that election security preparations exist to protect voters and preserve the integrity of the vote.
"As security partners and a nonpartisan organization, our role is not to determine the outcome of the election. Our role is to protect the environment in which people can make their choice," Brig. Gen. Bunayog said.
He emphasized professionalism, impartiality, and discipline among security forces, and confirmed that the 6ID and JTFC will operate strictly within their legal mandates while respecting the authority of COMELEC, the Philippine National Police (PNP), local governments, and other stakeholders.
Public Trust at Center of Credible Election Push
Brig. Gen. Bunayog called public trust essential to a credible election and urged all agencies to maintain sustained interagency coordination, share timely and accurate information, and work collectively to address emerging issues and counter misinformation.
He appealed for unity among all stakeholders, framing a peaceful and credible BARMM election as a contribution to public confidence, institutional stability, and lasting peace in the Bangsamoro region.
COMELEC Leads Conference, Multiple Agencies Present
The final PJSCC Coordinating Conference was spearheaded by Atty. Allan C. Kadon, Provincial Election Director of COMELEC in Maguindanao del Sur, according to a statement from Camp Siongco.
Attendees included Election Officers from municipalities across Maguindanao del Sur, Army Brigade and Battalion Commanders, PNP counterparts, and other key government and security stakeholders.
