The 10th Infantry (Agila) Division of the Philippine Army deployed additional troops on August 30, 2026, to reinforce security operations ahead of the 2026 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections, the division announced.
The augmentation force, drawn from the 67th Infantry (Agila) Battalion and the 102nd Division Reconnaissance Company, was formally sent off during a ceremony at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Brgy. Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro.
Send-Off Ceremony at Division Headquarters
The departure ceremony was held at the 10th Infantry Division's headquarters in Mawab, Davao de Oro, with Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry Division, presiding over the event and addressing the outgoing personnel.
MGen Luzon stressed that the mission of the deployed troops goes beyond maintaining physical security, framing their role as one of preserving public trust in the democratic process.
"The right to vote is a fundamental right of every Filipino. Our responsibility is to help ensure that every voter can exercise this right freely, safely, and without fear," MGen Luzon said.
He further directed all deployed personnel to maintain the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, impartiality, and non-partisanship, while adhering strictly to the Constitution and the rule of law.
"Our loyalty is to the Constitution, to the people, and to our mission," MGen Luzon emphasized.
Forces Augment 6th and 11th Infantry Divisions
According to the 10th Infantry Division, the newly deployed troops will complement forces already in place and will support the election security efforts being led by the 6th and 11th Infantry Divisions within their respective areas of responsibility in BARMM.
The augmentation is part of the Philippine Army's continuing efforts to support a safe, peaceful, and orderly electoral process in the Bangsamoro region, the division said.
